Bradfields Academy

PTFA

In 2012 a number of Parents & Carers decided to put together a group which would promote and support the activities of the Academy.  This group is known as the PTFA.

WORKING TOGETHER FOR OUR STUDENTS.

We are very fortunate to have an active PTFA at Bradfields Academy, formed by parents, grandparents and staff.   More members are always welcome.

AIMS

  • To support the education of the children via fund raising and other activities
  • To foster more extended relationships between staff, parents and others associated with the school

We run a range of fund-raising activities throughout the year and we are always keen to hear new ideas. Popular events have included Christmas and Summer Fayres and the Quiz night.

WHERE DO FUNDS GO?

All the money raised by Bradfields PTFA is used to benefit the students.

To date the money has paid for theatre trips, living eggs, funding a school library among other things.

You can get involved with the PTFA in a number of different ways – first and foremost by joining us!

Bradfields Academy signs up to the Charter for Protection and Education of their students.

Following on from the NAHT’s [National Association of Headteachers] annual conference in Birmingham, May 2014 and the deliberations on the NAHT charter called ‘A Model Media’, staff and students at Bradfields Academy have furthered their debate for agencies to work together and recognise the shared responsibility for keeping sexual or violent media content away from children.

On Monday 6th October 2014 a signing ceremony took place at Bradfields Academy. Two student representatives from the Student Council, the Chair of the PTFA & Former Academy Principal Kim Johnson signed their version of the Charter and intend to rally parents/carers at their Specialist SEN Academy to lobby their local MP and media providers/regulators for protection for their SEND students from unsuitable and age-inappropriate materials.

Are you interested in becoming part of our PTFA, helping to raise money for our Academy?  If you are please contact Emma McGregor-Davies (Parent & Carer Partnership Manager) or Kelly Pope (Parent & Carer Partnership Assistant) on 01634 683990.
