Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- The purpose of each link has not been identified from link text across the website. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.9.
- This is a limitation on the Blue Apple website structure. This will be re-investigated at the next review.
Disproportionate burden
- The time-based media does not have audio description available.
- We estimate it would take 1.48 working hours to edit the videos to be accessible. The staff costs are estimated at £59.96.
- There is no sign language interpretation for all prerecorded audio content.
- We estimate it would take 2.04 working hours to edit the videos to be accessible. The staff costs are estimated at £83.75.
- The time-based media does not have extended audio description available.
- We estimate it would take 1.48 working hours to edit the videos to be accessible. The staff costs are estimated at £59.96.
- There are no media alternatives (prerecorded) for the time-based media.
- We estimate it would take 2.04 working hours to edit the videos to be accessible. The staff costs are estimated at £83.75.
Due to being a Primary and Secondary SEND Academy, we are partially exempt from the accessibility regulations. Therefore, it has been found, through assessment, that the above is not needed in our compliance, and it is a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment in the next review February 2026.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
