The Humanities department celebrated Black History Month with Year 10 and 11 students in the last week of term.
The student had the opportunity to learn about traditional African clothing (including how it is worn), and they heard a talk from Miss Leah about Kenyan traditions and the Masai tribe.
The students also had a chance to create their own African mask, taste traditional foods; the students particularly enjoyed the traditional Rice and beans and chocolate tasting.
Other activities included African drumming, an ‘I Have A Dream’ workshop focusing on Martin Luther King, as well as African Geography and famous Black British people.
Students in Pine also had the opportunity to learn about Black History Month in their classes, including learning about traditional African clothing.
