Bradfields Community Commemorates D-Day

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, Chartwells put together a traditional picnic lunch for students.
D-Day started on 6th June 1944, which saw the Allied forces begin a large invasion into Nazi-occupied France; ultimately changing the Second World War in the Allies’ favour.
The lunches had sandwiches, mini pork sausage rolls, nacho chips and crudités, and Victoria sponge for dessert. Our wonderful cooks even did their hair in 40’s style for the event.
Our Primary students also wrote some heartfelt messages to home as if they were soldiers preparing to take back the beaches of Normandy 80 years ago.
