On Friday 9th May, our Medical Team (Mrs Pattison, Miss Purves and Miss Rubarb), their manager (Mrs McGregor-Davies), our Principal (Mr Waters), and the Fortis Trust CEO (Mrs Sweetlove-Smyth) attended the 25th Kent Teacher of the Year Awards
This year, our medical team was nominated for their heroic efforts in reviving and supporting a student when they became seriously unwell during the school day earlier this academic year. Their quick thinking and life-saving actions led to the student being revived and taken to the hospital, where they recovered.
Due to this extraordinary effort, the team won the Special Recognition Award! When the story was shared with the audience, it became clear that the audience found that their work was so awe-inspiring that they were the only winners to receive a complete standing ovation from everyone in the room.
Miss Coates was also a part of this fantastic achievement and win, but due to being on maternity leave, she was unable to attend the evening.
We cannot express how much pride we have in Mrs Pattison, Miss Purves, and Miss Rubarb, and we are extremely honoured to have them in our team!
