UPDATE - COVID19 - 04/01/2020

4 January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you are aware the government have taken the decision to delay the start of term for some schools. Due to the high rates of infection in Medway, the increased risk to our students and our staff and the fact that we currently have a number of staff and students who have tested positive with Covid we will only be open on partial basis from Wednesday 6th January for the children of critical workers, students classed as the most vulnerable and all primary students.

It is likely that the academy will re-open fully to all students on Monday 18th January; however, this is subject to governmental review later in January. As soon as we have any further information, we will inform all parents and carers.

Critical workers – please complete the online form today

The most recent list of jobs and professions considered to be critical workers can be found here:

If you intend on using the provision and you are considered a critical worker (key worker) and have no other childcare support, you will need to complete the online form which can be found here:

Please ensure relevant identification is provided to the academy to confirm your eligibility. If your child is attending this provision they do not need to wear their academy uniform. Please note this does not guarantee you a place but, once we have responses from parents we will be in contact to confirm if a place is available.

Please note we will not be able to accept any students who have not pre-registered through this form. Students will remain within community group bubbles for the critical worker provision.

Free School Meals – please complete the online form today

Free School Meals during this period will be available. If your child normally receives a free school meal please complete the online form below to indicate if you would like your child to have a free school meal provided and to confirm you will be able to collect this from the academy.

Students who are in school will continue to receive in-school meals.

We have been working closely with Medway to identify the children who are deemed the most vulnerable and would be better supported within the academy. Families of these children will be contacted separately to offer them a place in the academy up until all students return on the 18th January.

We understand that this situation is unknown, but we will continue to work with you to ensure the education of our students remains paramount. If you require any further advice or support please email the academy office –

We will be in touch again to provide further updates

Thank you for your support in this very difficult time

Yours sincerely

Marie Sweetlove
