Pastoral Review Day 2021
Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Pastoral Review Day 2021
On the 12th November 2021 the academy will be holding the annual Pastoral Review Day. I am pleased to say that this event is planned to be a face to face event where we can welcome families into the academy for an appointment with their child’s form tutor.
Although restrictions have been relaxed enough for us to allow this to be a live event we will be taking precautions to ensure everybody’s continued safety. We also have the facilities to switch this to an online event should the government guidelines change in the meantime.
The academy is closed on this day to all students and families book an appointment slot to see the form tutors. Here they get to meet the students new form tutor for the first time and find out how the students have settled back into the academy following a very disruptive time to their education.
Appointments are to be booked by accessing the parents evening booking system through the School Gateway. Click on Useful Links and then Parents Evening. Alternatively you can use this link SchoolCloud - Bradfields Academy. When accessing this you should only be able to book with the tutor or tutors if the form group is shared.
For parents who are new to the academy the procedure is just the same. Access the same link and you will be asked to enter some details. If those details match our system you will go straight in. You do not need a username or a password.
Appointments will be for 20 minutes. If you have any updated details that you need to share with the academy then this is a good opportunity to bring them along.
For those students that are taking examinations and qualifications throughout this year then there will be some paperwork to complete on this day as well.
In order to reduce the traffic through the academy we will have more waiting areas set up but ask that you arrive as close to your appointment as possible. We will not be able to provide refreshments on this day so you may want to bring a bottle of water or drink with you.
We have also had to limit the appointment time to between 10:00 and 16:30. This is because the Performance Studies and Drama group had a last minute opportunity to perform in a show in the evening. They have not had the opportunity to do a live performance for two years now and this is a vital part of their assessment. We hope that by limiting the appointment times this year more people will come to support in the evening.
Whilst we are pleased to begin to offer live events again, we fully understand that these are still anxious times for people. If you do not want to come in for a face to face appointment please telephone the academy office and they will take a note and we will make alternative arrangements. When we know who this affects then we will be able to say what this will look like. It might be that we are able to do a video meeting or phone call on the day or similar in the following week.
Similarly if you are having any difficulties with the online bookings, simply telephone the academy and we will be able to help make the bookings with you.
We look forward to seeing you on the 12th.
Mr David Waters
