This is an opportunity to be part of Bradfields Academy’s successful team. We are looking to recruit Special Needs Teaching Assistants ideally with knowledge of autism to join our dedicated team.

Our Academy based in Medway, is a leading centre of excellence in the Special Education sector. We strive to ensure teaching is of a high standard and are extremely child focused, with a phenomenal team atmosphere; this is an ideal work opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck in and working together.

As an ASD Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for providing a dynamic range of support for students across the autism spectrum both inside and out of the classroom supporting the teacher with their small classes. Students are aged from 5 – 18 years.  You will ensure all students can thrive and fully develop their social, cognitive and emotional skills, working alongside the teacher to be a role model and guide, to motivate and enable all students to achieve. Having high expectations for the behavioural and intellectual development of each learner.

Within this position it is ideal if you are experienced and knowledgeable to work with autistic learners; a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification and/or SEN qualifications would be advantageous from a care or school work experience.  Previous experience working with moderate to complex learning difficulties within the 11 – 19 age range would be an advantage.  You will have a great work ethic, patience and calming presence, keen to be involved in all aspects of the academy community.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable school-based experience for those seeking a career working with special needs and looking for a new challenge. Some staff have moved into teaching roles within our academy following training.  If you are an outstanding individual who has the relentless drive, the ability to inspire and the resilience for a challenging but rewarding new opportunity please submit an application today.

Staff at Bradfields have access to the Fortis Trust package of benefits, which includes a wide range of professional development opportunities, and wellbeing support. Staff can also join the salary sacrifice scheme for childcare vouchers and the cycle to work scheme. As a Mindful Employer organisation, we also encourage staff to take part in regular ‘wellbeing days’ during the year.
