We are looking for a passionate professional individual to join our team. You will have extensive experience of working with people with learning disabilities and understand the barriers that often prevent them from getting a job. You will also have experience and a successful track record of supporting disabled people into employment and be passionate about their right to live the life they want. Your energy and commitment will enable you to play a key part in realising this aspiration. You will be part of a highly committed and professional team that works across a range of disabilities.
Applicants should have the ability to establish a rapport with people from all walks of life and be capable of identifying barriers that prevent an individual from moving forward. Knowledge of initiatives that support people into employment is desirable.
The primary focus of the Job Coach is to provide work related support to individuals taking part in the Supported Internships Programme. The ideal candidate will provide support to employees with a disability and help the employee learn to perform the job description of the Supported Internship.
The ideal candidate will also engage with employers to secure realistic employment opportunities for the project beneficiaries and hence will understand the concept of Job brokering and be able to negotiate Job descriptions that meet employer needs and match to the skills and abilities of internees.
In establishing effective relationships with participants, you will monitor progress against key milestones and organise the appropriate support, training and work experience as required. We need individuals with attention to detail, great organisational and communication skills together with the ability to be flexible and adaptable as business need demands
