Students and Staff Visit China 2025

As part of Fortis Trust’s ongoing partnership with Hebei International School Partnership (HBISP), two students and two staff members from Bradfields Academy have had the opportunity to visit China during the Easter Break.

Saturday

After landing in Beijing on Saturday, the staff and students wasted no time in taking in the local sites!  They first visited the Olympic Village and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, due to high winds, all the tourist places were shut, so they missed out on some visits.  They enjoyed the sights that they managed to see though, especially the old, beautiful buildings.

They then enjoyed a traditional Chinese lunch and went on a bullet train, which travelled at 200mph!

Their hotel was very comfortable, with a button that opened and closed the curtains!!!

Sunday

On Sunday, the groups experienced a full shopping experience, with a visit to the local 5-floor shopping centre.  It was certainly interesting, and the students got a lot of attention from the locals.

Monday – Wednesday

Throughout the week, our students and staff had the opportunity to visit a variety of schools in China as part of the programme.

They were welcomed warmly, and gifts were received and given between hosts and visitors.  The students and staff then took part in a range of activities across the different schools, including:
  • Creating traditional Chinese food
  • Learning to write Chinese Symbols
  • Producing traditional decorations
  • Planting trees
  • Play traditional Chinese instruments
  • Wear traditional Chinese clothes
  • Pottery

Thank you to the host schools for your hospitality and warmest welcomes!

The students and staff returned safely and full of joy to the academy on Tuesday 22nd April.

Mrs Fernandez and Miss Jones have both said that the two students were fantastic representatives of the academy.  They were also the first students to volunteer for new activities and tasks.

Well done to everyone involved, we are so proud of your excellence of character, and are extremely pleased you enjoyed this cultural experience!
